DBC competitions to mark International Non Violence day

Don Bosco College (DBC) Panjim, organized a poster making competition and an essay writing competition to commemorate, International Day of Non-Violence on Monday, October 4, 2021.

The theme for the competition was, Non-Violence: A weapon of the strong. The competitions were held on the college campus between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, keeping in mind the social distancing norms. Students from various departments actively participated in both competitions. For the essay writing competition, students penned down their views on how non-violence can be used in society to initiate change. For the poster making competition, students came up with artistically crafted posters each having a meaningful message in keeping with the theme of the day. The participants also gave brief explanation of their posters.

The winners of the essay competition were, Anto Jose Cyril (SY BSW) first place and Abigail Siqueira in the second place. In the poster making competition, the first place was bagged by Sarah Cabral (FY BBA - TT), Saakshi Muliyana (TY BBA) the second place and the third place by Rachel Waikar (SY BCA).
Assistant Professors Valerie Carvalho and Anaita D’costa coordinated and organized the competitions.
