DBCE Celebrates Goa’s 60 Years of Liberation

Winners of collage and video making competition with DBCE management and staff

As part of the on-going Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Don Boco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, and in keeping with the Diamond Jubilee yearlong celebrations of Goa’s Liberation from the Portuguese rule by the government of Goa, DBCE department Electronics and Telecommunication engineering (ETC) in collaboration with DBCE department of Science and Humanities organized two competitions on capture and appreciation the Legacy of Goa.

The two competitions for school and college going students from across the state was held in the month of August. The first competition was the Collage making competition titled, Goa in a Snapshot for which the participants made a digital collage using not less than 10 images portraying various facets of Goa. The second competition was the Video making competition on the theme, Capture Goa’s Rich Culture for which the participants made a video of 3 minutes depicting the Goan Culture. The jury, Aaron Gonsalves, Owner Pixel Canvas, Rony Michael Pereira, Mountain Top Motion Pictures, Ryan Dsouza and Melba Photography, Melba Fernandes judged the entries for the respective competitions.

The winners of Collage Making Competition were, Mark Agnelo Cota in the first place, Dattaprasad Gurudas Naik in second and Selwyn Shaun Fernandes in third place.
In the Video making competition, Adishree Haresh Korde bagged the first place, Melissa Alexander Solomon second and Jefin Sam John took the third prize.

The prize distribution was held on October 1, 2021, at Don Bosco College of Engineering. Director, Father Kinley D’cruz, Principal, Dr Neena Panandikar, HoDs and staff members of ETC and S&H departments with students online were present on the occasion.
The event was organized by the Professor Flavia Leitao, Professor Samantha Cardoso and Professor Anisha Cotta of the ETC department and Professor Harison Cota, Professor Steefni Cruz and Professor Ulpa Waingankar of the S&H department together with HoD, ETC, Dr Varsha Turkar and HoD S&H, Dr Kala Nayak.
