The Salesians of the Konkan-Panjim province celebrated the Province Community Day on January 16, 2018 at Don Bosco Sulcorna as they praised and thanked God for the many wonders God worked in and through them in the province. The Solemn Eucharist commemorating their patron St Joseph Vaz celebrated by the Provincial, Vice Provincial along with the newly ordained priests was a befitting moment to offer gratitude to God.

“We are all called to be prophets of hope to others” is what Fr. Felix Fernandes, the provincial exhorted the Salesians during his homily. Further elaborating on the same he said, “we need to have an encounter with the Lord, which is why we have left everything to serve God”. During the programme that followed, the new priests were felicitated. Fr Leo Pereira presented the address, thanking the provincial and his council along with the Rectors and In-charges for their dynamism and sacrifice in animating the province. He called the gathering to “discover the harmony that we are”.

As Fr. Provincial shared his few words of wisdom in the end, he reminded the gathering about the two words which summarized his homily – Consecration and Communion. The community of Don Bosco Sulcorna went out of their way to make this day special. It was a pleasant experience to share our oneness and harmony, was the feeling of all as they left the place.
