The screening of movies in St. Xavier's School, Belagavi

As part of the Don Bosco Youth Film Festival of India (DBYFFI), three schools from Belagavi city participated in this venture from January 18th to 20th, 2018. The theme of this film festival was “Youth for Life”. This was a unique way to reach out to youngsters in order to educate them through entertainment, envisioned by the Salesians of Don Bosco of the South Asia region.

A series of short films of international standard were shown to the students in two different sessions. After each film there was a quick sharing in which the students enthusiastically gave their feedback. Short films life Ambani – the investor, Changing Batteries and Soar made a big impact on the students. Life is precious and we need to live it to the full, was the main idea which was highlighted in all the short films.

“Educating the students through entertainment, also known as “edutainment” was the goal of this Film Festival” explained Fr Jason Pinto, SDB, who along with Fr Arvind Severes were directly responsible for screening the short films. Mrs. Clara Fernandes, a teacher from St. Xavier’s Belagavi said, “the films were of good quality and the message that it drew was impactful”.
