Fr Provincial cutting the birthday cake

February 04, 2018 was the most memorable and joyful day at Don Bosco, Audio Visual hall, Panjim Province, as we had two important celebrations, the visit of our new National Delegate Rev. Fr. Albert Johnson, SDB and the birthday of our Provincial Rev. Fr. Felix Fernandes, SDB.

The day began with a welcome note by Rev. Fr. Savio Gomes, SDB, the Provincial Delegate of the Cooperators and the ADMA. Mrs. Santana Da Costa, Provincial Coordinator of the Cooperators presented a bouquet of flowers to Rev. Fr. Albert Johnson and another bouquet of flowers was presented by Mr. Eddie Noronha, President of Don Bosco Alumni to Rev. Provincial Fr. Felix Fernandes. The Cooperators and ADMA members from Odxel presented a welcome song that was followed by the sharing of reports by all the Units viz. Cooperators, ADMA and Don Bosco Alumni. Mrs. Alison Rodrigues, Provincial Secretary presented a highly informative PowerPoint Presentation on the overall outreach programmes, pilgrimages and other activities held by the Cooperators. Mr. Valentine D’souza, President of the ADMA gave a detailed report on the pilgrimages and other programmes conducted by them. Mr. Cedric Carvalho and Mr. Eddie Noronha from Don Bosco Alumni gave a brief report on the activities and various outreach programmes conducted by the Past Pupils from different Units.

Fr. Albert Johnson shared his views to the Salesian family gathered and went on to say that the Cooperators should be “Active Lay Catholic Politicians” and that one should understand the identity of the Salesian Family. This was followed by a short presentation of Memento’s to the National Delegate by all the Units. After the cutting of the birthday cake by the Provincial Fr. Felix Fernandes, he gave an edifying talk on the importance of the Eucharist and devotion to Mary Help of Christians. The programme ended with Rev. Fr. Tony Alemao, Delegate of Don Bosco Alumni giving the vote of thanks.
