Salesian Family gathered at Kudal for the celebration of their day dedicated to them

Salesian Family Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on October 2, 2018 at St. John Bosco Church, Kudal, Maharashtra. The day had a theme of the Rector Major’s Strenna: “Let Us Cultivate the Art of Listening and Accompaniment”. The program was well attended by over a hundred members of the Salesian Family comprising of priests, religious, Cooperators, ADMA members and past pupils, along with the pre-novices of Pinguli and the youth of the parish.

The program began with a welcome speech by Fr. Savio Gomes, Provincial Delegate of the Cooperators & ADMA, following which Fr. Paul D’Souza, Rector of Don Bosco Fatorda gave a brief history of the institution and the geography of the surrounding area. Fr. Roshan D’Souza, Youth Director at Don Bosco Pinguli along with his team of vibrant youngsters enthralled the members with their ice-breakers and kept everyone laughing gleefully. Fr. Simao Fernandes, Rector of Don Bosco Pinguli then gave a beautiful and practical presentation on the Strenna.

After this presentation the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Lino Lopes, Parish Priest of Don Bosco Kudal along with the other Salesian priests. The hymns were soulfully rendered by the parish youth choir. After being fed spiritually the Cooperators of the Kudal unit satiated their taste buds with dishes from the delicious Konkan cuisine. A short entertainment program was beautifully presented with items by the Cooperators, the ADMA, the pre-novices and the girls of Auxilium Centre, Ranbambuli, bringing smiles on everyone’s faces.

It was indeed a well organised Family Day in which the Cooperators of the Kudal unit along with Fr. Lino Lopes, SDB, meticulously looked into every detail to see that the program went on smoothly.
