Gaurav Pokle snapped with the Film Club students

Budding Goan actor Gaurav Pokle who is known for his new hit movie “AMIZADE” was the chief guest and orator at the Film Club session held at Don Bosco College, Panjim on January 11, 2019. He spoke on the topic, ‘Challenges faced by Goan actors in the field of acting.’

Movies are something we all love to watch in our free time. There are many genres of movies produced in Hollywood and Bollywood film industry. In his speech, Pokle said that, hardly few people appreciate their own roots and encourage the local Konkani films. "It is very important to watch and patronize Konkani cinema and help make it a profit making industry. Just like in the other states where people have made movies of their own language famous, we too must take pride in our culture and language", he added.

Pokle also shared important tips with the young artistes present in the audiences who are hoping to pursue a career in acting. Finally, he gave a jaw dropping monologue performance from one of his plays and the audience could not stop appreciating it with loud claps.

Today’s session began by welcoming the chief guest and other dignitaries on the dais with decorative flower vases. While welcoming the chief guest, Manager of Don Bosco College Fr Joaquim Lobo encouraged the students to develop skills in the areas of media that they are interested in. This was followed by Gaurav Pokle clapping the clapboard and beginning the Film club session.

A video made by Media Communication student Francis Quadros successfully captured everyone’s attention with his creativity in shooting and editing a video titled ‘Cinematic Panjim’. Media Communication student Shripad Kurtarkar then performed a monologue and kept the audience entertained.

Gunjal Patel proposed the vote of thanks. Pranali Mantri, film club secretary was the host of this session.
