Don Bosco College (DBC), Panjim, Department of the Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) successfully completed their departmental tour from November 10- 19, 2019.

The tour began with a long, yet wonderful train journey from Goa to Chandigarh passing through the country side and soaking in the scenic beauty of different states.

The first place of visit was the marvelous Pinjore garden, Rock garden and the beautiful Sukhna lake in Chandigarh. Post lunch the students visited Wagah Border to witness the flag lowering ceremony. The hot sunny afternoon was no deterrent for the hundreds of people had come for the ceremony. Bollywood hit numbers like Chak de India and Suno gaur se duniya walon playing in the background to the shouts of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Hindustan Zindabad filled the air with patriotism as the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers executed the ceremony flawlessly. However, seeing the people seated on the other side of the border we wondered just what must be going through their minds and hearts.

The following day the staff and students visited the iconic Golden Temple at Amritsar. It did not take long to get immersed in the vibrating spirit of consciousness at the temple. The students witnessed the sewadars (volunteers) emanate selfless service; making every interaction a meeting with God. Hundreds of men, women, and children joyfully carried out chores like cleaning, cooking and caring at the temple. Students also visited the Jallianwala Bagh, a name they were have been familiar since school and its prominent place in Indian freedom struggle.

At Manali the students visited the Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple and the Old Manali village which gave the true essence of Manali. The students enjoyed their excursion to the snow point building snowman, having snowball fights, making snow angels etc. The highlight of the trip was the exhilarating white water river rafting ride at a pit stop in Kullu en route to Shimla. On the way to Kufri, students enjoyed a wonderful horseback ride and other adventure activities. The day ended with a relaxed and a refreshing walk on the mall road and a visit to the famous Shimla church which brought back the energy for the journey back to Chandigarh to board the train to Goa. A journey that started with expecting the unknown concluded with beautiful memories for the staff and students of DBC Panjim BBA.
