Don Bosco College (DBC) Panjim, Literary Committee in association with Books and Beyond club organized Virtual Poetry Slam Competition on the topic, love in all its forms, to commemorate Valentine's Day and to promote a love for writing, reciting and performing on February 15, 2021

The event began with a brief introduction to slam poetry. Hosts Aryavrat Malhotra and Zainab Quadri, students of SY Mass Communication and members of the Books and Beyond club, ensured the smooth flow of performances. Asst. Professor, Delilah Pacheco, of Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science and Asst. Professor, Joanita Lobo, of Don Bosco College, Panaji, were the judges for the event.

The event saw participants from institutions across the state showcasing the different facets of love, from hope to breakups, pakoras and chai, the perceptions of love flowed. While some performed poems that dispelled romantic love and its associated atrocities, others left questioning cliff hangers that gave everyone chilling thoughts to dwell upon. Some chose to speak of love as a feeling they had never experience.

Runner-Up, Akshata Bodke said, I am here to expose, slam and slice love in a not-so-loving manner. I hope you like this poem because I don’t expect you to love it. Every performer through their own perception of love, gave the listeners something to enjoy by penning down and reciting stimulating poetry.

Angel D’Souza from Don Bosco College, Panjim bagged the first place while Akshata Bodke, of Dhempe College of Arts and Science was the runner up. Alisha Souza, coordinator of the event proposed the vote of thanks bring the even to a close.
