DBCE participants of Webinar on ABS

Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a webinar on Antilock Braking system and its Practical Application in association with Institution of Engineers (India) IEI DBCE Mechanical student chapter on March 27, 2021

Speaker Dr. C.S. Shankar Ram, professor department of engineering design, IIT Madras, began with a brief overview of objectives of braking system and the functioning of hydraulic brake system. He explained how the ABS (Antilock braking system) helps the driver to maintain steering ability and avoid skidding. He also explained the Anti-lock Braking System is designed to maintain vehicle control, directional stability and optimum deceleration under severe braking conditions on most road surfaces. He concluded the session by showing videos of ABS and non-ABS vehicle thereby highlighting the importance of ABS in vehicles.
