Jubilarians with Provincial Fr Felix Fernandes and the toast master Fr Anand Noronha

The Salesians of the Province of Panjim gathered together at St. John Bosco Church, Kudal to praise and thank God for the 25 years of fidelity and commitment of Frs Joaquim Lobo, Anisio Mota, Francis Xavier and Peter Pinto. The theme for the evening was “Called in Love to Love”, signifying the fact that it was the love of the heart of Jesus, the Supreme Good Shepherd that prompted them to be shepherds themselves.

The day began with the solemn Eucharistic banquet presided over by the jubilarians themselves along with a host of other Salesian priests from both provinces of Panjim and Mumbai including the Provincial Fr Felix Fernandes and Vice Provincial Fr Avil Rodrigues. The Eucharist and choir were animated by the community of Bosco Udyogshala. In his homily, Fr. Anisio highlighted the fact that he and his fellow jubilarians had experienced powerfully the love of Christ, which served to fuel their mission as Apostles of the Young. He encouraged the congregation to fall in love with Jesus.

The Eucharist was followed by a short felicitation and cultural program, which featured and showcased the talent of the girls of Auxilium Convent, Ranbambulim, and the prenovices and boarders of Bosco Udyogshala Pinguli. Fr Anandkumar Noronha was the toastmaster for the occasion. Fr Felix addressed the jubilarians exhorting them to be always faithful to Christ. He also thanked Fr Simao Fernandes and the community of Bosco Udyogshala Pinguli for their painstaking efforts in organizing the entire program. The day ended with a sumptuous meal.
