DBCE at Siemens factory, Verna

A total of 60 Electronics and Telecommunication students of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda visited Siemens Factory at Verna on August 27, 2019.

The students learnt about control and relay module which helps in monitoring voltage and protecting the circuit, used in manufacturing of power grid followed by testing area for testing relays used in power grids by binary inputs and outputs that are controlled manually as well as from a laptop. Fibre optics and circuits such as IC-61850 are used in the process and in case of cyber-attack, its security features can protect itself from foreign interference.

The students also visited Infinity 3-D and CIBA (Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration) where they learnt about 3 Dimensional imaging and its applications in architectural prototypes and statues prototypes. They also learnt about the different types of 3-D printers and different types of plastics used for different applications. The students also attended a briefing by the head of CIBA on how they are empowering start-ups and entrepreneurship and encouraging girls under the scheme of Green light to girls. He ended by saying, CIBA believes not in getting a job but in creating a job.
