Don Bosco College Panjim, Film Club successfully organized it’s fourth screening session in collaboration with the Women cell of the college on October 5, 2019.

Deepa Mehta’s directorial film Water, released in 2007 was screened on the occasion. Issues of widow re-marriage, child-marriage highlighted in the movie was extensively discussed in an interactive session by Dr. Mamta Kumari, assistant professor in Goa university’s department of women studies and Kajal Kerkar.

The session began with the customer clapping the clapboard and the film screening. The interactive session also discussed topics such as social reforms, changing society to modern living, unusual traditions or practices performed related to women, gender rights and decision making by women regarding marriage, divorce, and widowed rituals.

Assistant Professors Disha Mashelkar, Nikita Chodankar Dhuri, Vibhav Naik, Anaita D’Costa, Valerie Carvalho e Abreu were also present for the session. Gunjal Patel proposed the vote of thanks.
